How to create Permanent Links in via Library Search - Journals@Ovid and Books@Ovid?

 

Journals@Ovid

  • Locate the article in the Journals@Ovid database
  • Click on the article title for detailed view

  • When the article view has opened, click 'Email Jumpstart' on the right-hand side of the screen (1), and then copy the URL from the pop-up (2) and paste this link into the OpenAthens Link Generator. (NOTE: as at July 2020, the Email Jumpstart pop-up is duplicating the URL, be sure to only copy one URL).

  • Open the VU OpenAthens link generator (https://go.openathens.net/generate/vu.edu.au/71775300), ensure that Victoria University is selected (1), paste in the URL (2) and click 'Copy' (3). (Note that the URL disappears and the OpenAthens link is automatically generated).

  • Paste the OpenAthens link into your Readings module as needed.

Books@Ovid

Find the ebooks via Books@Ovid platform.

Click on the Title or Book Name and search.

The image shows search box and to choose Title or Book Name.

 

Click on the Title of the item.

The image shows the option of Email Jumpstart.

 

Copy the URL 

The image shows the URL to copy.

 

Paste on OpenAthens Link Generator to create the link to add to Readings. 

The steps to follow to get the link for Readings.

 

Journals@Ovid or Books@Ovid via Library Search

  • Find and access the article through the Library Search
  • Click on the 'Check for full text' link from the search results ...

  • ... OR from the article details page in Library Search.
