Reading e-books online

You can read books online with any secure internet connection. Various features are available when reading online such as you can print, copy and save a limited number of pages, search within the book, annotate (highlight,create notes), bookmark pages, share link and cite. 

Note: VU library subscribes to multiple e-book providers therefore not all the features are available on each of the provider platforms.

Reading on EBook Central

To read a book on EBook Central platform,

  • Search for the book through Library Search or EBook Central database. You will be prompted to enter your MyVU login and password.
  • Access your selected e-book through EBook Central by clicking on Read online.

  • Create a loan when prompted after browsing for several minutes or when printing/copying.
  • When reading online on EBook Central platform, you can browse through the chapters, search within the book, annotate (highlight, create notes), and add books to your bookshelf.

Reading on EBSCOhost

To read a book on EBSCOhost platform,

  • Search for the book through Library Search or EBSCOhost ebook collection database. You may be prompted to enter your MyVU login and password if off campus.
  • Click on the Full text available link to open the ebook record

 

  • Access your selected e-book through EBSCOhost ebook collection by clicking on PDF Full Text.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • When reading online on EBSCOhost platform, you can browse through the chapters, search within the book and create notes.
