History

When the Melbourne College of Decoration merged with the Western Metropolitan College of TAFE in 1993, only some of the programs were transferred. These were the Painting, Decorating and Signwriting programs. Other programs conducted by the Melbourne College of Decoration, in particular Visual Merchandising and Interior Decoration and Design, were transferred to RMIT.

While the Visusal Merchandising and Interior Decoration and Design programs were transferred to RMIT, VU Archives holds many of the records relating to all areas taught by the Melbourne College of Decoration.
