Step 1. Register for an ORCID ID

Go to the ORCID webpage and register for an account

Step 2. Add your details and publications to your ORCID account

Add your details under Biography, Employment, and Funding by clicking the Add tab.

You can add details for your publications by clicking on Add works. This allows you to link your ORCID with several services including: Scopus, Researcher ID, ANDS, DataCite and CrossRef. This helps to automate the update process. For more information on how to connect these services click on Adding Publications to ORCID.

It's advisable to clean up your Scopus Author ID before connecting with ORCID.

Step 3. Add your ORCID to VU Elements

Login to VU Elements

Click on 'Menu' and under 'Publications' click on 'Automatic Claiming'

Add your ORCID ID to assist with VU Elements auto claiming.

This is how we verify that you an ORCID account.
