Bachelor of Nutritional Science/Master of Dietetics; Bachelor of Human Nutrition: Referencing

APA 7th - introduction

The referencing style required for the Bachelor of Human Nutrition units is APA 7th (American Psychological Association - 7th edition). It is an author-date style. This means it uses in-text citations (author, year)  to acknowledge the author(s) of ideas and quotes included in the body of the assignment. The details of these citations are then included in a reference list, organised alphabetically and formatted accordingly to the rules at the end of the assignment.

Information about why you need to reference is available in the Referencing & Plagiarism guide.

Visit  VU EasyRef, an interactive referencing tool, or check the Referencing Library Guide. They provide information referencing and examples of in-text citations, the reference list and various reference types in APA Style.

Further APA referencing examples can be found on the American Psychological Association APA Style website
