Orbis contains comprehensive information on companies worldwide ranging from large and small listed and unlisted companies. Use it to research individual companies, search for companies by profile and analyse companies. You can also search for INDUSTRIES.

How to search Orbis for Industry information

  • Once you are connected to Orbis, click on the left building icon
  • Click on 'research'
  • From the options, click on Industry
  • Click on 'Industry classification'
  • Drill down to choose one or more area within the classification
  • The chosen area/s will appear on the right column, then click on the blue 'ok' button
  • Click VIEW RESULTS
  • Available MarketLine results will appear (by country or global reports)
  • Reports are often 40+ pages

Business source Complete will provide you with company information, company profiles, industry reports, financial data, country reports, market research reports, investment research reports and SWOT analysis.

How to search Business Source Complete for Industry information

  • Once you are connected to Business Source Complete, ensure you are in the advanced search page
  • Under 'Publication Type' Click on 'Industry Profile'
  •  Enter keyword in lowercase in the search box such as retail and australia
  •  limit the dates to the last 2 years
  • Click 'search'
  • note that in the results list there will be industry reports from various publishers

How to search Euromonitor Passport for Industry information

  • Connect to Euromonitor Passport, via the VU Library, and once in>
  • Use the main search box
  • In the drop down choose 'Analysis' for reports rather than just data>
  • Search by keywords, for example drinks australia
  • From the results list, select a country report, For example 'Sports drinks in Australia' 2022
  • There is the option to download the report to a pdf output
