Marty Grace
Prof Marty Grace, Professor of Social Work, began teaching at Victoria University 1991 and established the Bachelor of Social Work course, launched later that year. She received University teaching awards for her work teaching Social Work at Victoria University. Prior to joining VU, her Social Work practice and research focused on women’s unpaid work - particularly in caring for children, youth homelessness, and women’s health. In 2017, Prof Grace transferred her academic papers to the Victoria University Archives. These include papers that support her research, writing, and teaching, as well as developing curriculum for the University’s Bachelor of Social Work program.
Enza Gandolfo
Associate Professor Enza Gandolfo, is an Honorary Professor in Creative Writing at Victoria University. In 2004, she received a PhD for work Swimming: writing Childlessness, published as Swimming: a novel in 2009.
Not only have Enza and Marty made exceptional contributions to academic teaching, learning and research but their practice has drawn on close collaborations and engagement with the local community. This is particularly demonstrated by the their collaborative approach - both as academics and women - demonstrated by their publications - Love & Care: The Glory Box Tradition of Coptic Women in Australia (2011), …it keeps me sane…women craft wellbeing (2009), and Inventory: on op shops (2007) with Dr Sue Dodd.
