This library guide provides general information about streaming video and image databases available at VU Library, and includes lists of streaming video and image websites.
The guide is divided into the following subjects:
The Library subscribes to streaming videos and image databases from a number of vendors including Alexander Street Press, Kanopy, Informit, ClickView, Anatomy TV etc. The collection consists of Australian and international documentaries, anatomy animations, feature films, concerts, television programs and instructional tutorials.
Interfaces and functionalities may vary between streaming video platforms. For example, some videos are closed captioned or contain transcripts whilst others can be annotated and clips or playlists can be made.
"The use of video in teaching and learning is a common practice in education today. As learning online becomes more of a common practice in education, streaming video and audio will play a bigger role in delivering course materials to online learners" (p. 34).
