Links for Sage Journals

  • Access the article through the Sage Journals (Sage Premier) database
  • Once you have identified the relevant article, click on the title to open the detailed view

  • When the detailed view has opened, copy the URL from the address bar to use in the OpenAthens link generator.

  • Open the VU OpenAthens link generator (https://go.openathens.net/generate/vu.edu.au/71775300), ensure that Victoria University is selected (1), paste in the URL (2) and click 'Copy' (3). (Note that the URL disappears and the OpenAthens link is automatically generated).

  • Paste the OpenAthens link into your Readings module as needed.

Links for Sage Knowledge

Locate the selected book in the Sage Knowledge database.

  • To link to the entire book, navigate to the book's landing page and copy the URL from the address bar to use in the OpenAthens Link Generator.

  • Alternatively, you can use the 'Get Link' button to copy the URL to use in OpenAthens.

  • To link to an individual chapter, navigate to the first page of the selected chapter and copy the URL from the address bar. Once again, the 'Get Link' button can also be used to copy the URL. This link can then be pasted into the OpenAthens Links Generator.

  • NOTE: It is not possible to link directly to a subsection of a chapter. However, students can be directed to click 'On this page' and navigate to a specific sub-section.

  • Paste the redirected link into Readings as needed.

Links for Business Cases

Locate the selected business case in Sage Business Cases (Sage Knowledge)

  • To link to the business case, navigate to the case's landing page and copy the URL from the address bar to use in the OpenAthens Link Generator. Alternatively, you can click the 'Get Link' button to copy the URL.

Links for Sage Catalyst

Locate the selected book in the Sage Catalyst database.

  • To link to the entire book, navigate to the book's landing page and copy the URL from the address bar to use in Readings.

  • This link is ready to pasted into the Readings module.

 

  • To link to a specific chapter in a Sage Catalyst book, right-click (Command-Click on a Mac) on the selected chapter and choose 'Copy link address' from the pop-up.

  • The link will look like this (for e.g.): https://app.talis.com/victoriau/textbooks/9781529766950?pageIndex=87
  • This link is ready to be pasted directly into Readings.
